Server Management Services LLC has an opening for the position of Infrastructure Engineer (Ref# IA718MP).

Work Location: Irving, TX and relocation required to various unanticipated locations throughout the U.S.

Job Duties: Responsible for installation, configuration, deployment, administration, maintenance, upgrades, backup, and troubleshooting of systems infrastructure, including storage area network (SAN) infrastructure. Perform daily health checkups for storage systems including HP 3PAR arrays, HP XP 24000, EMC-Symmetrix, Dell PowerMax, Brocade, and Cisco SAN switches. Perform SAN provisioning. Coordinate with vendors for any hardware-related issues. Configure and manage the aggregates. Migrate data from old infrastructure to new hardware. Create CIFS shares for Windows Servers which include troubleshooting and managing the shares as per the project needs. Create NFS share exports for Unix hosts and troubleshoot the share issues. Create multi-protocol share and provide access for Windows and Unix users. Collect and share capacity reports to customers as per requests. Perform Data ONTAP upgrades in order to fix the bug related errors. Perform HA (high availability) failover and failback on production environment. Perform 7-Mode cutover activities and cluster mode volume move activities as part of planning the aggregate rebalancing tasks. Activate deduplication to enable storage efficiency. Configure NetApp SnapMirror replication between source and destination volumes in order to maintain DR (disaster recovery) protection for the user data. Update and upgrade the backup applications according to the latest release of the patches. Administer backup systems to ensure comprehensive data protection and recovery across enterprise environments. Configure and maintain servers, ensuring optimal performance and reliability for data backup operations. Investigate and resolve issues related to backup failures, performance problems, and other related concerns.

Requirements: This position requires a Master’s degree or foreign academic equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. Plus 2 years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation including Storage Administrator, Infrastructure Specialist, or related experience. Position requires 2 years of experience with backup infrastructure. 40hrs/week.
